Young people who didn't see the "original" appearance of some idea or technology do not appreciate how ground-breaking (dare I say "game-changing"? Will James Cameron or Michael Bay magically appear? ;) ) the old stuff was/is if they try watching it today.

For example, Seinfeld (after being inundated by all the pale imitations that followed).

It's the truth, I hit this all the time with older sci-fi movies, anime and cartoons.

The uneducated look at some stuff an roll their eyes and scoff at it for hitting a lot of what is now clich?, but back in the day it was setting trends rather than following them.

I so almost tossed this thread... damn I hate "FIRST" posts; but then I got the "overused" theme and the topic subject made sense.  Too bad if you wanted to search for this topic later on you will have to remember something other than the thread topic subject :P.

Sometimes I'm an ass when it comes to thread titles ... Mondays, the probability doubles.

Today it was accidental, though -- sleep deprivation. It was either this, or Project Mayhem 2.0.
