Man, what it feels like to have:

1. Dark, legible text
2. ACTUAL COLOUR

I got a Samsung C410W for a reasonable price at MemEx

My only gripe so far is the paper tray sticks out, but whatever, now I can print all the things forever

Looks like a nice printer! Reminds me of my Samsung CLP-610ND. Though not quite as business oriented. I found an awesome deal on mine years and years and years ago. Samsung makes a good laser printer :)

I have a CLP-365W, way better than a color ink jet, never dries out ;)

Totally. Though I recently bought new carts for my printer... min size is 2000/2500 pages :o they are getting old too, so they are a bit expensive. :( cost more than a new printer. but the carts will probably outlive a consumer printer by a long shot. I am still using some of the carts the printer came with, 6-8+ years later.

You must have a separate scanner, then. At our house, the printer and scanner are one.

I keep wanting to get a colour laser printer and I keep dragging my feet.
Prayin' for a 20!

gcc thorin.c -pedantic -o Thorin
compile successful

I really don't trust combo units. I did end up having to buy a scanner. but for a long time I didn't need one.

I have a CLX-3185FN and love it!  MFP Color Laser.

I was impressed by the colour and dpi, even on crappy paper

A good laser has excellent dpi and quality. :D even older ones. back in the day they sucked, but they had to compete with inkjet. i think they solidly beat inkjet for cost/function reasons. I never have to replace a full cart because it dried out. or buy a new printer because its cheaper to buy a printer than new color ink. lol. (well technically it would have been cheaper to buy a new printer than to get new carts for my printer, but i wouldn't have gotten near as nice of a printer... lan + full duplex + 20ppm, 2500 pages per cart on half carts, and 4000-5000 on full carts. last me a life time. Original 2000/2500 carts have lasted over 6-8 years. insane.

Reminds me, I bought a relatively cheap Brother DCP-1510. BW multi function laser here in the Philippines cause we have a @%&# load of paperwork to do. probably sell/give it to mila's family or friends when she moves. It's rather good for a mfp ;D but woe unto him/her that has to deal with it when one of the components dies, and takes the whole thing with it. >:(
