Global warming? Maybe not so much.

While I'm sure most people here read slashdot often, an article explaining how the UN and other scientific bodies manipulate data (and make up data?) to reach their own conclusions.

So what do you think?

Mr. Analog

I am very conflicted about the Global Warming issue, I mean on one hand we have things like the gulf stream moving about causing problems in the south of England and Spain, but then historical evidence suggests that it has moved before in the past. Similarily we've only had somewhat detailed climate readings from about the 15th Century but even those numbers are flawed because we only get details about Western Europe and East Asia (and again, no accurate tempreatature details or ocean patterns).

The other thing to consider too is is this something that needs "fixing", that is to say would human intervention attempting to rectify the problem make it worse? Even the "holy grail" of green energy (fusion) creates pollution (heat pollution).

I just don't know enough about climatology to say for sure...

Based upon my 26 years of existance, things are heating up, so therefore global warming is real :P

Global warming or not, were not helping the situation, there are other spinoffs to polluting the air and the sea then just the earth heating.

Hey, shorter winters, cheaper heating bills who's complaining :D
I only drink the blood of my enemies, and on occasion a strawberry smoothie.

The only thing we punny little humans can do to this huge planet, is wipe polluting buts off it. Might take a (few) century or melenia for things to return to "normal", but in the end, all we've done is harm ourselves.

Things are getting warmer... Probably more because of nature than by use, but I do think we are speeding up the process, and it would be wise for use to ease back.

2 wordsWikipediaentries for ya...

An expanding Earth, and Chemtrails.

We're heating up (more like heat is being increasingly released -- but not like in the movie "The Arrival") but it's not cuz of cows farting and mega-corps pollutin'. 'sokay though, have no fear, cuz the gubmint is spraying stuff in them skies to keep it all balanced and us ultra-safe from extremes of temperature (mostly). So return to your stations, nothing to worry about...

We haven't seen global warming till we see one of these.  Seeing as it could happen at anytime we best use up everything we got now!  Dont want to leave anything to waste.

Mr. Analog

I blame Time Lord intervention and steam powered airships full of genies.
