Supposedly only based on released info, not estimated counters like nextgenwars... There for updated less often as well but still interesting.

Thorin

According to that chart, PS3 and Wii are quite a bit further along and Xbox360 is a significant amount further back than NexGenWars reports.
Prayin' for a 20!

Mr. Analog

I find it very difficult to believe that the Wii is so far against the 360, though looking at their site it seems like it lines up... wacky!

http://www.vgcharts.org/welcome.php  wow, they use japanese numbers, and look at all that pro nintendo stuff everywhere (zelda graphs, mario graphs).  yeah...nice.

Okay, so I already debunked this p.o.s. site.

According to your graph above 360 is at 6.07M (the website says 6.16M)

QuoteEntertainment and Devices Division revenue growth of 70% over the prior year was driven by demand for Xbox 360? consoles, software, peripherals, and Xbox Live?. Xbox 360 has sold 6 million consoles worldwide life to date and achieved record cumulative attach rates for software and peripherals in the United States, while Xbox Live passed the four million member mark during the quarter.

So that would be 6 million till end of October.

QuoteNPD shows 197,000 PS3 systems sold for the month, while the Wii managed to move 476,000 units. The Xbox 360 bested them both, though not by much, sporting sales of 511,000 for the month.

Since NPD doesn't track the worlds largest video game retailer (Wal-Mart) and already we have 6.5M+ 360s in the wild (plus whatever Wal-Mart has sold in 360s through November).  I am far more inclined to believe the numbers in Lazy's sig versus the ones on that website.

Might as well toss this article in here (though its mostly speculation)

QuoteWhile the most recent data shows six million Xbox 360 consoles sold as of September 30, internal data indicates Microsoft may have sold more than eight million units as of the end of November.

Reaching the 10 million goal is just now a matter of sales: about a week ago the company shipped its ten millionth console. And from the looks of things, hitting the mark may not be that difficult.

So does Microsoft have 4 million 360s sitting on shelves world wide?  I would tend to doubt that.

My guess is that the truth lies somewhere in between. Just another source I found on the net.

A rather horrible resource (but a resource none the less (as I guess uncyclopedia is a kind of resource)) I'm going to say somewhere beyond what nextgenwars.com has.  At least with Microsoft being a publicly traded company the quarterly reports will contain accurate numbers.
