Did a bit more digging and came up with this loadout...

Looks good man, now buy it!  Only change I would make would go with the LG DVD-RW drives, as they are rated better.

Looks great!  Quick question: why did you choose the 7900 GTX over an 8800 GT?  Is it a case of raw card power over DirectX 10 features which won't be available for a while?

I bought it with the future in mind, I wanted to be Vista DX10 ready. By the time SP1 + more DX10 games hit the street I'll be ready, plus it can play current stuff like SupCom without chop!

So, I had to switch to the eVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS SC 640 MB because of stock limitations (they can't order any more of the 7900 and they don't have any on the shelf at the moment), I also had to backorder the mobo. According to MemEx it should only be a couple of days (which is fine by me).

Uhh..., the 7900 is NOT a DX10 chip - the 8800 is.  And the 8800GTS I linked earlier in the thread will seriously out-perform any 7900 (it should out-perform a 7900 GTX SLI config, even a quad-SLI in some cases).

I was trying to stay within my budget and get a new monitor. Since I had to switch things around anyway it's a moot point.

Ya - you managed to get that other post in there while I was writing my reply to the one I quoted - the 8800GTS you had to switch to was the one I recommended you get in the first place.  It's faster, is DX10, and is cheaper (even without the rebate) than the 7900 you had originally chosen.

It's just as well, I wouldn't have been moving to Vista and DX10 for some time anyway that's why I figured I could get away with a lesser card for a while, then I tried finding something that was bang for the buck and could play stuff like SupCom reasonably well and the 7900 seemed to fit. I'm happier I went back to the 8800 but I will have to upgrade my monitor later (I just have my old VGA ViewSonic...not that there's anything wrong with that I'd STRONGLY prefer a hi-res with low response time LCD but I don't want to buy a cheap ass DVI monitor right now if i would definitely regret it later...).
