Wii Games

The DS version has more games, apparently.  I'm pretty sure we'll be renting this one to see if it's good or not.  Dodgeball, Tetherball, Slot Car Racing, Paper Racers, Dart Shoot Out, Wallball, and Kicks.  I can't wait to try it...  I mean, to let my kids try it!  Yeah!  That's what I meant!

Our kids got Mario and Sonic Olympic Games for x-mas.  Having played it once, I think it's going to be a hit.  The kids as well as myself all seem to like it.  And Thorin has already set a new world record in 4x100 freestyle swimming.

Swimming made my arms hurt

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games has twenty events to compete in, with one to four players.  You can compete in single events (get a medal at the end) or play a circuit (three events in a row then get a medal based on standings in all three) or play a mission (do something specific in a single event).  Once you start setting records, you can compare your record to other people's records.  When I set the swimming record, I found I was number 3,323 on the list of 10,026 that had submitted scores.  There's also a trivia section with little games (follow the card, card memory, that kind of thing) that lets you learn a bit about the ancient Olympics, modern Olympics, Beijing Olympics in particular, and about athletes (haven't tried the last one yet).

And you can play as any Mii on your console!

I like the game, I think it's a very good example of what can be done on the Wii with the controllers and the graphics capabilities that it has.  SEGA obviously put quite a bit of effort into the game.

Hehe, told you I wasn't crazy... Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is one sweat Wii game!
