So my interest in IRC has been renewed once more after frag. Anyone here still spend much time in IRC?

Lazy, I never really used IRC.  As a chat medium it works just fine, but the trick is finding the right channels to join.  If you get the wrong one, you're just talking to chatbots or zombiebots :P

What is it that you want to use IRC for?
Prayin' for a 20!

gcc thorin.c -pedantic -o Thorin
compile successful

Well, not much at the moment I am in a few channels related to some open source apps I use. The developers tend to be there so it is great for support.

Also found some channels related to network hardware we use at work. You can sometimes get instant answers vs days posting to mailing lists, newsgroups or forums.

IRC is quite handy. Most of them are all related to kde and qt. The one I co admin I've been hanging out in (off and on) since somewhere around 2000. (Doesn't that just scare you?)
