I'm not sure I have a running copy of windows atm. I had switched to windows 7 when I found I liked the rc. Sadly they have all expired. Last time I tried to boot one, it wouldn't let me login.

I can see if I have an XP instance working.. Hopefully steam itself doesn't require D3D.

The previous version of steam didn't it ran in Virtual Box.. However they have completely changed it to make it cross platform.. All you need to do is get it running and follow the purchase link to get it in your account.
