Mr. Analog

Hey guys! Opportunity knocking here.

I need a couple of impartial volunteers to help me judge a contest I'm running. I thought it would be easier but I got a lot more participation that I thought I would (normally contests scare people off).

The challenge with the judging here is that it's not about the most skilled artist,  it's about overall concept and execution.

The theme for the contest was "fictional crossovers"

If you are interested, send me a PM.

Haha no, seriously, I need some help with this.

All I need is 30 minutes of a couple peoples' time after June 21st.

I suppose I could help, but I don't know how good of a job I can do.

It will be simple, I'll just send you a zip of images and a scorecard :)

Okay, the contest is closed. Those interested in judging note me and I'll send you the guidelines tonight.

Thanks,
Mr. A

Y'know I just realized that there is an easy way to do this, use the interwebs!

You can look through the entries here (it is an extremely mixed bag of material and skill):

Basically I'd like people to pick their "Top 3".

Try to base your judgement on these criteria:

1. Overall concept: The idea here was "crossover" whether it be between two existing properties or an existing property and an original character concept.

2. Dynamic: Interesting poses, action scenes, flow, layout. Something that catches your eye whether it be well executed or not. Characters just standing around is boring.

3. Execution: Given the variety of skills involved you'll see different levels of quality, obviously better art will excel in the other categories as well (but don't overlook some of the less skilled entries)

4. Gut: If you know just by looking what you think makes it, then that overrides all

Send your top 3 selections (with links) as a PM to me. I expect it may take some time, so there is a soft deadline of Thursday-ish.

Good luck and enjoy!

P.S. I don't think there are any "Over 18" images, if there are and you can't see them that is ok just exclude anything you can't see (that goes the same for any required plug-ins).

You guideline said submit 2, what if they only submitted 1?

Ok, if we're making action be a requirement, these are my top 3:

1. http://solototocoyote.deviantart.com/art/IronMan-vs-MegaMan-166884856?q=&qo=
2. http://wetsquirrel.deviantart.com/art/StarWars-I-choose-YOU-167441811?q=&qo=
3. http://solototocoyote.deviantart.com/art/Green-Battle-Royale-166161180?q=&qo=

With mentions to:

http://rocketdave.deviantart.com/art/Popeye-vs-Goku-168285599?q=&qo=

Now, I actually have some favorites that really didn't include any action, and the only way I was going to thin my list down was to remove a bunch that didn't actually have much action in them: (in no particular order)

http://onainitsuj.deviantart.com/art/Poke-mario-167010094?q=&qo=
http://innocenttazlet.deviantart.com/art/Shego-dressed-to-kill-166407126?q=&qo=
http://kawaii-demonic-thing.deviantart.com/art/Welcome-to-Astraea-165487402?q=&qo=
http://atlas0maximus.deviantart.com/art/Misato-y-Pikoro-166736993?q=&qo=
http://lordsantiago.deviantart.com/art/SheRa-Stripperella-165206440?q=&qo=

http://steveriker.deviantart.com/art/Astro-Tenna-168656202?q=&qo=

A few of those are /quite/ good, but don't really fit all of the guidelines.

To be honest the ones that stood out the most for me were Poke Mario, Fallen Stars, Misato-Picolo, Dark Sided Duck, and Popeye vs Goku. (sensing a theme here... I tried to not let my obvious bias influence the results ;D)

Anyhow there you go.
