One thing I learned a little while ago is the Blue eye "gene" (not sure its just one...) is actually a defect some geneticists say they have tracked it down to a single person 10,000 years ago or something.

It's supposedly partial Albinism, or a lack of melanin (which causes the color in hair, skin and eyes).
