Thanks, I REALLY HATE HATE HATE the new design.

Ditto to the eleventh degree! (I'm thinking "Ugh" kinda gave that away ;D )

Apparently their FAQ sez it was as a result of "user testing". Yeah, "focus groups" always tell you how to "improve" things. ::)

One thing I noticed majorly different: all the easy-to-distinguish section divisions are now pretty much gone. So when your eyes are looking for certain section markers, it's all pretty much free-floating text, no lines, no coloured section headings... DAMN hard to find what you've been used to finding uber-easily the past half-decade >:(

Here's hoping that the "use old layout" option will not just be "temporary". :)

Trying to use the "new" IMDB is almost as frustrating as when I tried out the Hotmail "Live Beta" (within 20 minutes I reverted back, after compiling a quicklist of at least a dozen things I hated and/or missed from the normal Hotmail ::) )

IMDB @ 20 years: facebook without the lawsuits ( = boring ;) )

http://www.thestar.com/article/875456--howell-website-imdb-marks-20-years-in-the-movie-biz

...not sure which is funnier sadder: how there already existed a thread for "IMDB @ xyz Years" ... or how I remembered it existed!

PS: anyone else effin HATE the "default" page now? I always find myself trying to click a link to see the "navigation bar" on the left, which has pretty basic HTML instead of the puppy-kicking SLOW dynamic-loading contents of the new page... just compare http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001385/bio with http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001385/maindetails -- where the *!@# is the nav bar???

I've been sick of the site for years now, they just can't keep the easy to read layout, it's all about pushing marketing now, period.

Most of the time Wikipedia has the information I'm hungry for, so iMDB is only like a last resort now.

I learned something new today...  IMDb was around before WWW.
