this is what the stages [will/did] look like... apparently around 3:10am EST is when the peak orange/brown look occurs.

orange/brown moon = pretty darn cool, kinda surreal.

for those who weren't up that late, just click the links I posted in the OP and you'll see exactly what lucky folks like me (and my 3 kids!) saw at 1:05am local time thanks to the clear sky.

An hour or so before that was the "halo" which as I said was way cooler... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2641/3776672632_40264f3e5c.jpg is kinda what it looked like, sorta like in Star Trek 2, after the Genesis Device blows up and there's a few "rings" way far away from the point of detonation, in the sky, live above our heads... freaky!
