So currently I have forced my self to try Firefox again as my default browser, putting Chrome aside..

At first I was annoyed with some changes, but decided to READ why and what had changed with some searches (Such as the RSS subscribe button moving to the bookmark menu). The changes I really didn't like are easily fixed with add-ons or small about:config changes. This is where FireFox still stands out, you can change JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING!

There are some add-ons I had been using in Chrome that are also available for Firefox, the interesting thing I noticed is that these plugins are more mature and have more features under Firefox. (Ghostery, AdBlock Plus, Xmarks).

I also missed some of Chromes default behaviors, such as the home screen frequent sites (new tab jumpstart), the inline auto complete (browsers.urlbar.autofill) and live web search (omni bar) while typing (FF searches just history and bookmarks live by default).

Then I started to remember plugins that I abandon but loved in Firefox before switching to Chrome.. (DownThemAll, QuickDrag)

All and all FireFox is still a great browser, I am not finding any performance issues, and Mozilla is moving to a much more rapid development cycle similar to Chrome's. This next year of the browser war should be interesting.

Nice to hear!

Honestly, and to be CLEAR, my whole ranting/complaining last week about W7 (and to a very small extent FF4) was about "change for the sake of change", ESPECIALLY when you have no ability to configure things the way that makes sense to you, the USER.

FF4>W7 in that respect, ainec.
