such over-the-top gameplay... obviously very much "not for kids*" theme, what with the whole "calling in an air strike, apoco-fists" etc. weaponry.

PC Gamer: "It's mad. In fact, it barely makes any sense at all. But for all its wonky bits, there's an odd charm to Volition's decision to leave nothing on the drawing board. It's not the largest sandbox, but it is packed full of brilliant toys. Saints Row: The Third's commitment to unrestricted, ridiculous fun is unflinching, and the product is a city full of glorious slapstick debauchery"

1UP: "so crazy and over-the-top that you can't go wrong with this game -- provided that you're the sort that would appreciate the game's knowingly juvenile sense of humor"

I am really surprised that nobody had already linked to gameplay videos of this game. http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/11/08/saints-row-the-third-44-reasons-why-its-awesome

*otherwise, soon enough kids will act out that violence ;)

I have this on PC it's actually quite a bit of fun, you can get your posse together and go whomp on some baddies.

There are a lot of flaws though but the minigames really make up for it.

Plus it's all kind of tongue in cheek.

Conversely I've hard that SR2 is much, MUCH better
