Yeah, thats cool. I won't really be convinced till someone knows what the "unknown additives" are.

Here's the actual paper discussing the empirical testing of said device: http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1305/1305.3913.pdf

Keep in mind that this device generates heat, so you have to take that heat and turn it into some other kind of energy to be able to use it (steam turbines, for instance, that could generate electricity).  I'm not sure that you could easily create a car engine from this.

But it is interesting that there are independent scientists who have been employed to test this device.

NASA has been using thermoelectric generators on probs and rovers with nuclear / radioactive heat sources for a long time, however efficient transfer is important.

My only issue is that scientists apparently don't know how it works the way it does, just that it /seems/ to not require more energy in than it makes. "unknown additives". I don't really think their paper means a heck of a lot without that. Know what that additive could be? A 10kW generator.

Well I read the actual paper the scientists put together and they describe testing the device without anything in it and with stuff in it, so I assume they got to see the stuff getting put in.  They also talk about the resistive coils that are in the E-Cat HT and how you can see them on the heat signature as darker spots.  I think if there was a hidden heat generator in the device, these scientists would've had to be in on the scam.

[insert link to that excellent Outer Limits episode with the student who built the CF bomb all freaking out about how simple it was so therefore others will also figure it out and boom there goes planet earth]

Well I think I said before, let's see what real verification can be made by duplicating the results not running the same gizmo again.

I guess we'll see but so far this sounds too good to be true, and unlike Nikola Tesla's electric motor, is being developed with a for profit motive.
