Connecting feeling old and D&D turning 40 ... until 30 seconds ago I did know that "TSR" stood for " Tactical Studies Rules, Inc. "

At the time I first heard of D&D I was doing some self-learning of ASSEMBLY* LANGUAGE so "TSR" was "Terminate and Stay Resident" in my brain (and I never bothered to update that mental entry, until now.) (unlike "TRS" which is likely the same thing in your brains as it is in mine)


PS: and re. D&D, why does http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Gygax gets all the credit and respect, why not also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Arneson ?




* the reason I say "feeling old" is that the Assembly was *6502* -- Wiki says "When it was introduced in 1975, the 6502 was, by a considerable margin, the least expensive full-featured microprocessor on the market" ... I think the book was one of these relics , and this actually kinda makes sense to me, still (although I haven't touched the stuff for over 25 years! (understanding these concepts kinda helped when learning C/C++ though) )
