Microsoft still crushing it in Enterprise

For every one company that goes Google, hundreds -- thousands! -- quietly cut another check to Microsoft. This has happened quarter after quarter, year after year, since Ballmer took over.

...as Ballmer prepares to exit stage right, it's worth remembering what Microsoft actually does right: Creating and selling products that businesses want to buy. That's no small feat.

Weird that over the last 2 decades so many larger corps have stayed loyal, while countless individuals and smaller businesses reduced or completely cut ties to M$. What explains the difference?

Ballmer made all existing host your own licenses more expensive with at the same time introducing MS hosted/Cloud versions of products... Those on EAs who are in the middle of THINKING about changing would still pay the EA to keep support and legacy rights through their entire transition to other products.
