Mr. A, sorry about sending this thread into router discussion land.

Mel, those are the ones I expected you to recommend :)

Looked up on wikipedia to see what devices might be using 802.11ac: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11ac#Commercial_handsets.  We have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and S6 in the house, those use it.  Our iPhones are older, they're 4Ses.  Our iPads and other tablets and laptops are older, too.  Still, I wouldn't mind that AC unit.

Now I just have to bite the bullet and get the Shaw router switched to pass-through mode (bridged? whatever they call it), and then find another power plugin (they're all full at the moment).

And then I could buy a new computer so my eight-year-old Dells can be retired.
Prayin' for a 20!

gcc thorin.c -pedantic -o Thorin
compile successful

For N I would recommend: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX37448

For AC I would recommend: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX48122

But depends on your cash flow and needs.  I love my RT-N66U and would say the Ram and CPU on it are sufficient for my heavy 2 person internet needs.  I don't expect to have any AC devices for another 2-3 years.

Melbosa's recommendations are solid, if you keep the base ASUS up to date it is very good. If you need a few more features the merlin firmware http://www.lostrealm.ca/tower/node/79 is also good.
