I wonder how this will effect anything, at all. Maybe some enthusiasm and optimism?

At the end of the day it's going to be on-ice performance that determines the Oilers future.

It has been a decade since we squeaked into the post season followed by years of resting near or at the bottom of the league, getting our hands on top picks and then not truly developing that raw talent, signing questionable contracts with mediocre players. Now with seat prices jacked up and the exploding parking issues / traffic problems surrounding downtown a consistently non-performing team is going to become more difficult for fans to support financially.
