The spectrum analogy indicates how much or how little autism impacts one's life (that is, how much it interferes with one's ability to handle day-to-day tasks required to stay alive and thrive).

The sundae bar analogy indicates what specific traits make up a person; most traits listed in the picture are traits that normally set one apart from the neurotypical crowd.
