Is it likely I'll be picked up? There's a nonzero chance and it never hurts to try as long as the office staff don't have "dire" or "flayer" in their titles/names.
Never hurts to apply, because your always compared to those who apply with you.  And cover letters/interviews can saw the job your way.  Job Postings, at NAIT or anywhere else, always expect the world from the prospects and settle on the best choice for potential to those prospects.  Well that or they get the guru they wanted, and he/she is over qualified or leaves in less than a year cause they can get more money.

All those languages sound like a big haskell to me. When you ada it all up, all programing languages are very similar.

 Just to put one more thing out there, that is about the job postings.  They are marked as OPEN but this doesn't mean you have all the time in the world to apply.  This means they will evaluate the applications as they come in and when they find someone, the will just pull the job posting, so the sooner the better chance you have.

 You should both apply - then I'll use what influence I have to try to sway the decision towards whichever of you gives me the largest bribe (must be paid up-front, no refunds)

Btw Mel - you know if that position is on Helen's team or Allan's?  Helen will listen to me if I go in with a good recommendation, but I don't have a lot of influence with Allan.

She'll win that one...  All my money goes to keeping my munchkins fed! :P

I remember, once a long time ago, when I had mountains of cash, and no debt  Probably just a dream I had.

Under Allan, replacement for Ted.  I've already recommended both to Danny.

well I only care how much $ in a year, and since the paycheque including that 53rd week is coming NEXT year I don't care about it - you only get 26 paycheques in a year (except every 14 years give or take, then you might get 27!) ;)

$ per paycheque
x # of paycheques January 1st-December 31st
= x 26 (ta da!) ;)

Even if I was looking for a job change, I think if I went for it I would *not* have a "non-zero chance" ;)
