So I want to expand our site a bit to make it more MMO focused, and was wondering what MMOs our user base is interested in/playing?  Reply here, and I will keep a running list in this post.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures

City of Heroes

City of Villains

Dungeon & Dragons

EverQuest 2

Tabula Rasa

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

World of Warcraft

I was actually going to be playing CoV, but after putting in a few hours over the last few days...its just not for me, and ive since had my pre-order refunded.

Beyond that, i dont really see any other MMORPGs that interest me other than Tabula Rasa, but its been forever delayed, and probably vaporware.

D&D MMORPG might get me excited, depends on how its development goes.  LotR might be a largely populated game as well.

Ustauk

City of Heroes

Probably City of Villains

Still have an active World of Warcraft account, probably going to term it soon, since I haven't played it much

I'm looking forward to Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, coming out next year.

I would prefer if the site was less MMO-centric and more generic. I know the site was intended to be used as a guild site, but I think it has evolved way past that into a gaming / geek culture site.

I would contribute site content if I could write about nearly any topic.

I'm looking forward to Vanguard: Saga of Heroes - http://www.vanguardsoh.com/

Being made by a new startup company thats formed mostly of the original team that made EQ before sony took over everything (well, they've hired a lot of flunkies since then, but the guys running the place are mostly ex-Verant), and they've got MS as their publisher.  Go read through the first bits of the FAQ on their site at least - I think they've got a lot of good idea's on how an MMO should operate, and if they can pull it all off it'll be a damn good game.

Everytime i bring anything like this up, Magnus or Melbosa step in and explain that that isnt want RW is all about.  If it were not for CoV being released next week, would RW be playing any MMO game heavily?

Guys I know that we are more than an MMO community, hense all the extra portions of the site, and I appreciate that you all have your ideas and such for expansion.  We try and accomodate this as best we can.

With that being said, like any good project, we don't want to be subject to scope creap.  Righteous Wrath stands as a Guild first, and will always welcome more beyond that scope, but will always be a Guild site first - focused directly at the MMO market.  This is the corner of the internet we choose to pursue, and we have been somewhat successful at it - we never wanted to be too huge.  It may seem that, due to a lul in the MMO participation at the moment, that we are lacking in that focus.  Hense this thread.

I am hoping to redircted a bit of the site back towards that focus, but still maintain the extra content we all enjoy.

CoH and CoV only. It's extremely unlikely I'll ever pick up on the WoWs ever again and a certainty I won't be touching any major-name MMO games unless someone clubs me in the head with a 25 pound sledge and as a result I get addicted to Gunbond (and end up as a janitor).

MMO's just really aren't my thang, and even awesome community-based gaming can't even change that. Yes, I may be missing out interacting with you guys because everyone's talking about the current most popular MMO time sink and I'm not. But goshdarnit I just prefer platform and PC games where the only multiple player situation is either built in to the game/system or is over a LAN.

Call me old fashioned if you will, but unless I love the pretty wrappings (obviously I love comic booky style stuff) put around killing an enemy in a location over and over and over again until I can kill a bigger enemy in a slightly different location I won't be biting.

To me, this is a place where we can geek out and amuse each other. I mean, to be honest the forums were rarely used to track guild events in WoW or CoH (as was evident with the breakdown of the RW WoW guild). I like this site, and I'd like to see it grow with the unique people who make it great. However, if the focus is narrowed to a facet that a large enough chunk of members might only have a passing interest in, it makes the existance of a community redundant.

Granted, it's your ball and you make the rules, but it's hard to play a game by yourself.

I appreciate that you guys want to make this site better than it is... and I appreciate that you are really passionate as to having a community like this.  I think its great that we are able to share all different types of information and we will try and still accomodate those areas as best we can.

But as I said before we are trying to make this work as a guild site primarily, and are focusing on that with our games and such.  The results of what happened in WoW were not a result of these forums or its members but in game politics and egos.  It is my personal hope that the next game (CoV) will bring the site and guild back to a glory that we had with WoW.

And with that, I still would love for everyone to get their share of the site and needs as they want it.  I think we have a great community going here, and hope it continues to grow.

Original intent and current usage may be a bit distant from each other, but it would be a Good Thing if this forum is used more often for discussing team strats and arranging CoH/CoV TFs and the like... But just as long as other discussions aren't suddenly frowned upon because they're not "guild-focused" enough -- in that case, before the ball is "taken home" cuz some of us don't want to play a different game than we've been doing for many months, I hope we get some warning :P

Well I think for the next while it'll be for me anyway:

Eq2

CoV/CoH

I don't think I'll be moving from Eq2 any time in the near future, even if some new MMORPG comes out, unless the folks I'm currently playing with switch that is.

I'm really looking forward to hanging out with all you folks in CoV though and performing numerous villiany acts! hehehe

I think CoV.. But I might not be playing anything online if the I can play more Heroscape..
