Sometimes I Think Before I Type... Sometimes!

Things that piss me off: Samurai Shodown V was supposed to be released on the PS2 by SNK / Playmore back in July 2004, thing is, I don't think it was actually released because it is not possible to find a copy for the PS2. Unless they had a release limited to single digits I can't think of why this game would be so hard to find unless it was never released.

Now this might not be a relevant game for all the 3D fighting still clinging to life and tantilzing gamers with virtual 3D tits, but old arcade addicts like myself eat 2D fighters up. Sure, I could probably emmulate this game but that's hardly the point, I wanna buy it from you SNK, why won't you let me buy it?

I think I'm still on the "notify" list for when Garou: Mark of the Wolves gets a PS2 release...

Ah well, with all the latest releases from past months I'll be in my Gaming Bunker until February or so, rouse me when the new GC Zelda is out though :)

Thats one MASSIVE Xbox360 list!  WOW!! How will they manage to keep up that pace!

I know eh, it's not like they have to recoup losses or anything...

It is rather amazing the amount of buy-in "on faith" gamers have in Microsoft. I mean, I look at it and think that the only reason most gamers jumped out and got one right away is based on speculation that the next wave of games is going to blow their collective minds. I mean, it's certainly not hackable *as of this writing* and the current list of games is pretty weak IMHO. Certainly there have been the expected teething troubles (overheating, disk scratching, etc) so why would anyone want the first gen of this console? Perhaps it's a marketing coup that caught gamers by suprise using a bold new strategy:

-Market the hell out of it (duh)

-Limit Quantities before launch (manipulate silly human brains)

-Launch "on time" (good job!)

-Release very few games during Launch quarter (donk! huh!?!)

I guess in a way this is my justification for not getting one right away, the high price, the lack of games... meh. With $500 I could buy a couple classic consoles and play all the old, dusty games I still have yet to play and still have enough left over for a new game or two for my existing systems.

Again, just my two cents...

The launch titles were right up my alley.  A couple fantastic FPS, a stunning racer, a great football game, and a decent platformer.  Im missing a an RPG, but i can wait till March for Oblivion.

The disc scratching thing is caused by the user and not by microsoft so this is really a non-issue, as for the overheating, I and a couple good friends and family havent had any issues (however the people with issues will be the ones speaking up).

The next group of games looks to be great, and you have to look no further then Janurary for the next wave, and March for the following wave.

The reason i bought the console was for the games on HiDef.  To play Perfect Dark or Project Gotham on a 50" TV in high resolution is a site to behold, stunning colors, stunning graphics.  Next generation Xbox Live is fantastic and truely the killer app once again.  My current Xbox has lived a long life, ive played a good couple thousand hours on it i imagine, but seeing "Burnout Revenge" on a big TV running in 480p it was time for this generation to end, granted it still has some potential but the limitations are becoming obvious.

I'll admit that im a little annoyed that December is about the selling of the console and not the selling of games, but i do own 4 games, and by spreading them out its saving me a bit of money :) *i still believe that the 360 for piracy is a loooooooong ways off (and i doubt i will mod mine this time around)*

Is it odd that i never want to endulge in nestalgic gaming?  I find gameplay of old far to simplistic to keep me interested/motivated.  Why would i want to play the original "Top Gear" when I could play "NFS:MW"?  Or why would i play "DoubleDragon" when "Kameo" is far superior?  I really dont understand the lust to play games of old.

ZOINKS! I didn't realize they sold so few compared to PS2... If you were to bar chart the 3 big players, Xbox would almost be on par with NGC compared to Sony...

Quote from: "Analog's recoup losses link"However, Microsoft seemed all too happy to fork out billions to become the number-two console maker in the world. The approximate 22 million Xboxes it has sold surpasses Nintendo's to-date sales of over 16 million GameCubes--but still lags far behind the 90-million-plus Sony PlayStation 2s in homes worldwide.
