I saw this a month or so ago (i think) the first thing i thought was...oh oh, all those 3d modellers are now out of a job, concider that the forests in Oblivion will be done the same way, randomization through code will do things that no 3d modeller can do.

Lazybones

This is not the first time I have seen a preview video.. But I think this is longer than the one I saw before... walks through almost every level / phase of the game play.

Mr. Analog

Wow! Finally watched this one, looks neat.

:D "...and so, there goes my reputation as a non-violent game developer..." Sims creator and kid-at-heart Will Wright, at the 31minute mark :)

Holy Gigahertz, Batman! What kinda workhouse of a PC will ya need to run these... procedures? :o

PS: Will gets cut off at the 35min 47sec mark, but it looks like the above is a subset of THIS: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-262774490184348066&q=Will+Wright

Yup, there's a lot of interesting stuff (just Mr. Wright talking) but the other video is just the gameplay demo only.

Oh, and the Wikipedia entry for the game ROCKS -- includes a lot of good quotes describing the game (how Wright divided up the various phases, and the "Lucas/Tolkien" reference, etc.) ... and includes the Google video link.

I am actually quite excited about this game. I've been so busy most of this year that I've rarely played any video games, yet I'm 80% wanting to buy *this* title.  8)  8)

Don't forget the E3 forum is up and ready for postings again this year.
