One of the things that also worried me is that when he keeps scrolling out further and further I'm wondering how micromanagement will be reduced as you do that. Cause it really could kill the long term game play if they don't handle that very very well.

I'd like to see it switch into various modes where if you're off planetbuilding in space you only have to worry about space invaders (and not stuff happening on your own world).
