Way to go SPAMzilla.. J/K although your posting stats are kinda crazy, considering you are members of other boards as well.

Mr. Analog

What can I say, I have a lot of posts in me! Err, wait, that doesn't sound right.

I noticed yesterday when you were at 4820... haha I mean 5001 -- but I did a search and couldn't find that posting I did when you got to *THREE* thousand ("Mr. 3000!") so I decided to remain silent and see if you would notice well after and feel bad about it and disappointed in yourself and stuff. Looks like I was right. ;)

Anyone else know how to find that posting I did back then, "Mr. 3000"? I recall a bunch of others had said some funny things about Mr. Analog's post-whoring... :?

Mr. "3000" I think the quotes prevented an easy search.. I just searched for "post count" with no quotes.

Mr. Analog

I still want a shirt, so cold in this air-conditioned office when you're topless...

Bah! 2000 posts on average each 5 month period; 400 posts/month; 13 posts/day... that's not even twice what Mr. A does on this single forum (he's a p.w. on a few others, remember ;D)

Just take a note of the period there where I was averaging 2000+ posts a month ;) and that I've actually been posting there pretty solidly for 5 years :o

I find it rather crazy.

Then theres this dude on the same forum:

You'll no doubt notice the sharp decline in posts per month there. Guess what it coicided with? Yup. Its WoW.

I may be confused (i.e. it's dangerous to do math on a Monday) but 16000 total / 2000 "per month" would mean the graph would only show 8 months... but the "spikes" per time division seem to be over time divisions of 5 months each (e.g. 04-2003 thru 09-2003, etc.) Am I the one confused? :P

Look at the red line for the average posts. For a few months to a year I was averaging 2000 posts a month. I didn't mean that I was doing 2000 over the entire time span... I'd have like a hundred thousand posts :P

I *am* looking at the red line... That's a graph showing that when the red line has a point at the "2000" mark, the blue line goes "up" by 2000 -- over the same time span, which is 5 months.

*Below, I have excluded the surrounding time periods where the rate was less than "2000".

The "2000" redline (rate) seems to begin at 05-2002, and continue until 08-2004 (rarely going much higher or lower than 2000). During that time, the blue line (total) goes from 4000 to 18000. That's an increase of 14000. The time period is 3 months and 2 years, 27 months. So 14000/27 = 518 per month during that time. Multiplying the rate (calculated by division) x 5 = average of 2590/5-month-period (the "2000 plus or minus a bit" redline rate during that time).

I hope that helps makes sense what I'm saying. :)

Oops, I just noticed I may have been looking at the wrong graph.

Did you mean this one?

If so, let's see...

"2000" rate went from 11-2002 until approx. 11-2004 (more like 1500 at the time, but whatever)

The total (blue line) went from a total of 3000 to a total of 12000. That's a gain of 9000, and the time period was 24 months.

Again, 9000/24=375/month... Multiplying the rate (calculated by division) x 5 = average of 1875/5-month-period (the "almost 2000" redline rate during that time).

It appears that my theory ("the graph points are every 5 months, therefore the redline rate is the rate during 5 months") stands.  :)
