Now the funny part.

QuoteThe one thing that i don't really see mentioned here is that just about all these games have already been either done or almost done because of the 360. If you take out most of the games that have already been launched on the 360 that they are just adding a few small tweaks to, this would have been the smallest launch ever

Games that were already done for the 360:
NBA 07
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII
EA Sports Fight Night Round 3
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
F.E.A.R.
Full Auto 2: Battlelines
Madden NFL 07
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
NBA 2K7
NHL 2K7
RIDGE RACER 7
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07

Basically the PS3 has 2 real launch titles.. To me that blows

Tom

Didn't the Cube or N64 have like one or two launch titles? The only game you could get came with the thing afaicr.
<Zapata Prime> I smell Stanley... And he smells good!!!

Mr. Analog

When the PS1 came out there were only a few titles, a year later when FFVII came out everyone had to buy one ;)

Sony, like anyone else, needs a killer app FTW.

The cube had a weak lineup, and as a console it was dead last in popularity for its entire generation.

The 360 has good titles out now, despite a weak launch, however it launched with no other competition so that didn't hurt it. There are severl BIG titles about to hit for the 360 near the ps3 launch and probably before ps3 production gets out of the shortage phase. The Wii's launch lineup includes a Zelda game so that is a must have title, not to mention the Wii is both cheap and offers something unique in terms of gameplay and control.

The PS3 is going to have a slow and rocky start.. however once Metal Gear hits, it has a good chance of catching up or taking the lead.

Might have something to do with the lack of a number of decent games? :P
