QuoteHBO has acquired the rights to turn George R.R. Martin's bestselling fantasy series "A Song of Fire & Ice" into a dramatic series to be written and exec produced by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

"Fire" is the first TV project for Benioff ("Troy") and Weiss ("Halo") and will shoot in Europe or New Zealand. Benioff and Weiss will write every episode of each season together save one, which the author (a former TV writer) will script.

Sounds interesting

Sounds like an interesting set of books from what I read on Wikipedia.

Ya, I am trying to get the audio books... I have been wanting something to list too while on the LRT.

George R R Martin, prolific fantasy/sci fi author -- prolly best known to many of us as the mind behind the (modern series) Outer Limits episode "The Sandkings" (Martin penned the original novelette, but not the teleplay adaptation. Interesting details re. the original story here.)

I am on the second book of the series now. Rather good so far, not very predictable lots of character development.
