Have you found games to play?  I've left mine at the parents place for the last 3-4 months as nothing jumps out at me as truly investment worthy.  I'm pretty much waiting, i think, on the perfect party game, and I'm not sure their is much better then Wii-Sports for that just yet.

The kids have found fun games to play.  Keep in mind that they're young kids that haven't played a million side-scrollers or first-person shooters, so a game doesn't have to be perfect to be fun for them.

- Wario Ware: Smooth Moves: gets played plenty as a party game by taking turns on the levels.
- Rayman Raving Rabbids: same.
- Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz: 50 minigames that the kids play and a wickedly difficult puzzle game that requires accurate control to get past the third or fourth world.  Seriously, rent it and try it sometime if you like puzzle games that require twitchy controls.
- Wii Play: the kids seem to like it a lot better than me.
- Big Brain Academy: the kids got bored of it after a while but the wife really seemed to like it.
- Carnival Games: one of the kids got bored of it but the other two still like it.
- Wii Boogie: one kid thinks it's the perfect game while another doesn't like it at all.
- SimCity (downloaded): two of the kids are really enjoying it.
- Mario Party 8: the kids really liked it and we're probably gonna buy it.
- Super Paper Mario: One kid's tried it and was completely hooked (the other two probably wouldn't care to play it yet).
- MySims: We haven't tried it yet, but I think the girls will like it even though a seasoned reviewer can find lots of holes in it.

Yes, Wii Sports is an excellent party game.  Looking for the perfect game is difficult, though.  No matter how good a game is, a future game could possibly be better, right?  I think it just comes down to personal taste and jadedness.  Like the review for MySims, the reviewer finds all the negatives in the game because he's seen better Sim games, while my kids would be astounded at the idea of building a town up while interacting with all the other people in it!

Thank you.  Anyone else want to weigh in with what games they own or have played and why they like or don't like them?

I've got a serious Super Paper Mario addiction (even though I finished it at the end of last week). Right now it's the game on the Wii that gets my top rating. Good fun platforming with a bunch of brain-teaser puzzles mixed in. Plus you get to play as Bowswer and barbecue your enemies. >:D

I've been considering picking up the new Metroid but for now I've got so many games I should catch up first.

Some my favourite titles have come from the Virtual Console: SimCity, Gradius, LandStalker, Mario Bros., etc. Just this week they released a sweet cache of Neo Geo versions of Fatal Fury, World Heroes, and Art of Fighting and I'm going to be downloading all three when I get home.

For Wii games I'd say I play adventure titles like Zelda and Paper Mario the most. They're good for some pick-up-and play action, even if sometimes both suffer from parts that drag on a bit. Mario Party 8 is great fun for even two players. Wario Ware will give you a workout and it's just pleasantly goofy and weird.

Even with the games I already have I'm looking forward to future release titles - in particular Mario Galaxy and NiGHTs.

Raeofsunshine really enjoyed paper mario, she has almost played through it twice now.

I am really waiting for the New Mario and Smash bros, I haven't seen anything else really all that great... I did enjoy Raving Rabbids and I think there is another one on the way.

If anything I use it as a living room webbrowser. The wii mote is a great mouse, and the latest firmware updated added USB keyboard support. We should see some interesting things come out around the time smash bros arrives in terms of online play and content.

Neo Geo virtual console games are also starting to appear, if your into those.

As far as gaming goes Valves Orange box on PC is my current focus and I really plan on getting a 360 with the launch of Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect... I am actually thinking of going across the boards to purchase one to save some cash.

Interesting so really nothing I guess that would interest me as both more of a hardcore gamer and as well as a party gamer.  I did try the new Mario Party but just as the reviews pointed out its simply last years version with a few waggles thrown in.  I really hope the upcoming(?) Mario Party sets everything straight.

I guess the biggest issue I have is that I own both the leading platforms and the games I want to play most (the more epic big budget) are not being produced on on the Wii.  Pick up the latest issue of EGM for those interested, they have a multipage article on Nintendo's abandoning of the "Seal of Quality".

I'm sure its time is coming, I anticipate winter 09 being rather huge for the Wii, its gotta be, it sure ain't this winter.

Anyone know what the current attachment rate for the Wii is?

Here is a Wii game definately listing as an Adult game to play:

But looks like it might be a lot of fun, especially with that Zapper coming on the market.

Yah, not for the kids.  I'd love to have a go at any FPS with a proper pistol grip on my Wii remote, though.

I wonder how well it will play without the $40(?) Zapper addon.  Getting a little ridiculous with the addons for the Wii.

Thorin

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is listed as compatible with the Wii Zapper, but I'm sure the game will play just fine holding the Wii Remote in it's originally-intended way.  I just like the idea of a pistol grip on my controller if I'm playing any shooting game.  Just like playing the shooting game in the arcade with the actual revolver-shaped controller is so much fun.

The Wii Zapper is expected to sell for $20 standalone, and it will also be packaged with Link's Crossbow Training.  No price announced yet for Link's Crossbow Training, but I'm willing to bet it'll be $60+ based on what stores have done with games like Wii Play and Wii Boogie when they first came out.  I'm also willing to bet the price will fall within a couple of months.

Here's a video of someone playing RE:UC with a Wii Zapper.  I'm interested in and would probably prefer to play the game with the Wii Zapper even if I was less accurate and it was harder or even impossible to finish the game.

Apparently Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is also built with the Wii Zapper in mind, and another game (can't remember which one now).

I think I would prefer the Wii 2 in 1, because it separates.  Would have to try each one to see how they fit in the hand, though.

Mr. Analog

I haven't had much time for games lately, but I'm really looking forward to the new Mario, Smash Bros and Kart games.

November may be dominated by Unreal for me though, we'll have to see if they actually release it...

I just saw Playground advertised in the Best Buy flyer to be released Oct 24th.  We'll be looking at that one, for sure.  It's EA's first foray into a Wii/DS exclusive, I think.
