"The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil" is apparently the best plain modern English translation of that particular quote.

But yeah, once corporations are undying, untouchable legal entities it's just a matter of time before anti-social or even malicious human beings take advantage of that and exploit the masses with no real personal accountability...
