As of getting my Xbox 360 I have only purchased one game NEW, all my other games have been used.

I have don't a little checking and found that a HUGE amount of money can be saved using EBs trade in program.

- Get the member card with the annual discount option, this will give you 10% of used items.
- New titles that become used tend to be $10 cheaper than a new copy. Add on your 10% discount and now your purchase is something like $15 cheaper than retail.
- New popular games often show up as used as soon as a week or two weeks after release due to hard core gamers finishing them or not liking them
- If you finish a game with no replay value while it is still new or considered popular, trade it in RIGHT AWAY. Here is a personal examle
Purchased Assassins Creed used $39.95
Returned while still popular for $30.00 credit
Purchased Mass Effect used $49.00
Total investment $ 58.95

So for the price of 1 NEW popular title I am now on my second game for the same investment. This does not help for multi player games you want to keep around but is GREAT if you play many single player games with little replay value.

I've talked to the guy who runs the downtown EB (he goes to Fraga and I've known him since that location opened). Apparently EB will take a certain number of all new games and open them up and mark them as used.

So some games you can get "used" that haven't actually been used. It's a pretty sweet deal.
