Super Paper Mario and Peach's Usefulness

So I borrowed Super Paper Mario from Tonnica a long time ago.  I've found that I don't play it often enough to remember what's going on.  Well, yesterday I played again, and faced Brobot L-Type.  And got handily smacked down, first while using Mario, then while using Bowser (with my kids cheering me on!).

Then my youngest daughter said, "Dad, you don't use Peach very much".  Well, I thought her umbrella was only for floating, so I didn't think she'd do too good against a frickin' missile-shooting robot!

I'm gonna beat this level and get my seventh (out of eight) Pure Heart tonight!
