Sometimes I Think Before I Type... Sometimes!

ROFL!

President Howard T. Ackerman, President of the United States. He is an anti-communist believing them to stand against everything the Allies stand for. Played by J. K. Simmons. According to the latter, Ackerman has "facets of George C. Scott in Dr. Strangelove"; a "little bit of Barry Goldwater" and "at least a tiny bit of Dubya creeping in there".

PS: holy CRAP Lois, did you get a load of the amazing list of actors/voices for this game??

Simmons of course, but also Pete Stormare, Tim Curry, George Takei, Kelly Hu, Jenny McCarthy, Jonathan Pryce (even "The Wishmaster")! Awesome!

I'm really surprised that Tonnica hasn't piped up yet, she even has a pre-order for this game.

I pre-ordered Fallout "Oblivion with guns" 3, not Red Al(a)rt 3 :P

It looks good to me so far but I've seen a lot of bitching after the beta. It could just be that people are being picky because they want the game to be as good as possible. This is one of those touchy games with high expectations.

Red Alert 3 feels like a bubblegum version of real- time strategy. It's silly and campy, yes, and it's also fun. Keep in mind that it's just a familiar sort of fun, one that's almost unchanged over the decade the series has been around. While it'd be nice to see the series start pushing in new directions, we also know that there are fans out there who like to wrap themselves up in the RTS equivalent of comfort food.

Musically, the game has a driving soundtrack that helps fill in the lulls in missions. It works to the game's advantage that composer Frank Klepacki returned to help out with the soundtrack. Klepacki was responsible for Red Alert's iconic and memorable Hell March, and Red Alert 3's soundtrack feels like a fitting successor to that, with a modernized version of the Soviet anthem along with plenty of guitar-riffing background pieces.
Sweet!

The cast looks like they had a lot of fun for the most part. The great J.K. Simmons plays a gung-ho US president, Stormare basically echoes his role as the crazed Russian cosmonaut in Armageddon, and Curry's Russian accent just drips on the floor. Then there's no complaint about the bevy of beauties skimping about in cleavage-showcasing blouses and short skirts, though some of the "flirting" by British bombshell Gemma Atkinson is more than a bit awkward if you're anything other than a 14-year old boy.
LOL! 8)

This is one I'll play, as I really enjoy the Red Alert games for their humour, and simplicity in an RTS.  I'll let you know what it is like once I have a chance to play it.
