Well I saw the first episode... LOTS OF QUESTIONS! Fairly confusing the first part of the first episode left, I can tell this will be an interesting season. I'm pretty sure they'll bring back the Angels.

Doctor! I have something very important I need to tell you!

Mr. Analog

I enjoyed the first episode though they could have cast a better actor for old Milhous there.

Not too keen on this new Doctor though...

this worries me.

I thought Matt Smith was excellent in the previous season, haven't seen the new one yet, so maybe it was the storylines etc. that impressed me...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Impossible_Astronaut sez "Moffat wrote the episode with the intention to improve the series" I wonder what that means, what areas did he feel needed improved from S5?

All I know is that so far it's more "cliffhanger-y" or no wait, it carries on that great tradition :D

Yeah, I don't know what it is, but something bugs me...

Maybe what bugs you is that:

1. If the doctor messes with his own timeline and saves himself then a paradox occurs
2. The doctor apparently ages 200 years while staying the same, even though we've gone through ten regenerations in probably 500 years of his life
3. We have to wait to see how it turns out!

Nah, I'm cool with all that stuff, I just, I dunno, something about him.

1. They have destroyed entire parts of the universe before and restored them from "memory" so I am not sure the paradox is a big deal
2. Having the doctor age 200 years is not a big deal since he comes and goes in any time he feels as long as that form going back to 1 assuming his older self is saved there is no issue as long as the younger one fulfills the in-between parts then leaves and the older one comes back and later regenerates to carry on the continuity.

Thorin

Yeah, although they did mention in "The Impossible Astronaut" that the last time he messed with his own timeline, the universe exploded (see "The Pandorica Opens" and "The Big Bang").

For the older Doctor to save the younger Doctor but still look the same, he'll have to not regenerate for 200 years.  Otherwise we saw the wrong iteration of the Doctor get killed by the astronaut in the lake.

Most likely, the whole sequence will be unwound so that the astronaut never exists, thus removing the astronaut-kills-the-Doctor scene.  It's gonna hurt the brain how they'll accomplish that without alternate realities and dimensions.

Then again, alternate realities and dimensions have been commonplace in the new series...

Oh yes, loved the Finale last night, that was awesome!

I don't know exactly what it was about the earlier part that I didn't like but all was redeemed in the final part of the arc.

I still think they miscast Nixon though, the guy didn't look sweaty enough...

Not sweaty enough and not pot-belly-y enough.

Weird how they managed to tie this all the way back to the first episode from last season.  There were a few loose strings left for later in the show, such as finding the girl and finding out whose daughter she is, and of course the recurring feelings of inadequacy Rory feels whenever he sees Amy look at or talk to the Doctor.

It's gonna suck when they cliffhanger on episode 6 and then make us wait until the fall   for episode 7.  At least, that's what I've heard they're planning to do.

Yes, not pleased about that either... one of the reasons I was hesitant to start watching actually...

Weird, how? Cuz iirc wasn't that whole first episode's "Silence Will Fall" arc introduction still incomplete at the end of the season?

Or that they tied it up already?

Haven't seen either part of the new season, just asking in general, no spoilers plz ;)
