Tom

Most current politicians do nothing but earn my scorn >:(

The dude in my riding is a complete lazy ass hat. He does nothing and rarely shows up to work, yet he constantly spends money on sending out leaflets and letters saying how good a job his party is doing, as if he had a part in it.
<Zapata Prime> I smell Stanley... And he smells good!!!

on topic with OP, again how did I not think to lookup/include this name...

just found 2 noteables (and a 3rd, who died in 2009 but WOW I didn't realize how old he was)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eli_Wallach is a name I expect to be familiar to many -- he will be 98 on December 8, 2013.

And the lesser-known Norman Lloyd turns 99 years young on November 8, 2013! (Anyone remember him in  "St. Elsewhere"? He was over 70 even back then!)

Mystery Man #3:
Spoiler

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Malden
He died July 1, 2009, 4 months after turning 97. I actually REMEMBER seeing his American Express commercials!

And I might even have seen (perhaps in syndication) this "fantastic ensemble cast" disaster flick as well... I pretty vividly remember seeing the scene where missilies are being launched from satellites (and not knowing at the time whether or not that was actually real, or complete made up sci-fi plot).

man, I feel old...

Even more freaky: he's totally living out a couple of things spoken by his character "Tuco" in that film...
"you'll die. Only slowly, very slowly" and "Don't die until later."

R.I.P. Harold Ramis

Damn, that was sad and unexpected! I wonder if his uncommon cause of death will get the same Jim Henson effect...

Yep, sad to see him go that's for sure...

From SCTV to Stripes to Ghostbusters to Groundhog Day and so many more films... he will be missed as an actor, comedian, writer...
