Can a player who is not opped eat a cake in the spawn area?

Was trying to stay awake tonight, and decided on minecraft..

My plan was to get a bunch of leather and then enchant a bunch of books using the new grinder.

Things did not go according to plans. Since it takes 20m for a generation of cows to grow up, I spent a lot of time doing other things in the area between feedings.

One of which was finishing the automatic feather/chicken farm. The other was expanding the cow pen a bit (with a bunch of cows in it, so I had to do it in stages...), and adding retention fields to the edges of the cow pen. It helps keep the cows from suffocating in walls.

in order:
1. New chicken farm in action
2. egg firing mechanism
3. item elevator, takes eggs up to firing mechanism from sorting area
4. sorter, eggs go down, everything else continues left
5. new cow pen. now with retention fields.

Now I realize theres not really a huge point to all of the chicken stuff.. but hey, I had a bunch of time to wait for cows... and I did want to get it working. AND man, finally the stupid item elevator stopped being finicky. took a while.

That's a really good question, actually...  I hadn't even thought about that.  Maybe we'll have to have an all-op party to clear them out.

platform surrounded by a one block deep pit and then a two high wall (including the pit, or one higher than the platform). then put water on the "wall".

That's a really good question, actually...  I hadn't even thought about that.  Maybe we'll have to have an all-op party to clear them out.

Two words: Cake dispenser!

raised up the egg dispenser so it killed fewer chickens when shooting eggs (photo for that is missing, AND pretty boring, so meh), and connected the main pipe to an item elevator leading to a chest on the main level!
