New line of TVs with built in microphones and cameras that give no indication they are on, have facial recognition software and are open to 3rd party developers.

It doesn't get much more Orwellian than that ladies and germs...

That also describes the Microsoft Kinect but it does have an indicator light to tell you when it is on.

You can also simply unplug the Kinect when you want to be sure it's not recording you.  No such luck with the built-in camera and mic in the TV.
