Title: The Hockey Song has a fourth verse?
Post by: Thorin on June 08, 2012, 12:24:53 PM
Thanks to another thread here I ended up watching a couple of Corb Lund videos, including this clip of him at a live show singing the Hockey Song by Stompin' Tom Connors: http://youtu.be/B7lsIbZCJco

Man, I can totally dig the fourth verse he adds on (the original only had three verses).

And I'm wishing now that I had access to some of the recordings of him as part of the smalls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Smalls), I really do wonder what he'd sound like as a punk rocker.

Wow you've never heard the Corb Lund version on the radio?  I remember it every day during the 2006 play-off run, was on almost every station that year.

I listen to the radio quite a bit and I never caught that version before.

Guess I should listen to more AM then :P :D j/k

Used to hear it on K-Rock, The Bear, Power 92 when it was then, etc.

Well, I guess they weren't playing it in the mornings because I used to listen to KROCK/Bear/Sonic in the mornings and CBC Radio 2 and CKUA in the evenings...
