TBH I think i remember both for a long time it was the former, but then i think i read the latter. I tend to misread things for a long time, then one day i read it right and just go "Doh!"

I'm a stickler for details, and I noticed the very first time I saw the book that it was Berenstain.  I didn't see the first book until early 1999, though.
