real-life Dyson Sphere or similar? or just a "lopsided star"?

just heard of this, via http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/4568367530001/have-astronomers-found-alien-life-in-space/

So I guess some are speculating it's an alien megastructure blocking light from this faraway star -- and once "they" figured out we "found" them, they crippled our telescope that was spying on them. (!!!)

Obviously there's no evidence to support that kind of speculating (not that it stops most people on the web!) but wouldn't it be cool if a few years from now we found out that IS what happened? Wouldn't that make like a cool storyline for a scifi blockbuster? (Hey wait what if that IS the storyline for the ID4 sequel... would be extra spooky eh)

Ya. Just some asteroid belt or smth that blocks the light.

Hadn't heard about this "crippled our telescope" bs before though. lol.

The best theory I've heard so far is a disc of protoplanet material causing the occlusion
