The upside of using film and mostly practical effects is that you can just re-scan the film.

The big problem with remastering TNG was the cost of re-doing the effects shots. The return on doing it was low so it has prevented a remaster of DS9 form going forward.

It's a shame they didn't film in 16:9 from the get go, apparently they framed shots for 4:3 for early seasons so you'd see effects guys and stuff in the edges of the shots if they went full frame (which is a shame)

Still! I'm looking forward to this! Finally something to watch on Prime video lol
