IMDB has a bit of teaser info too:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0182576/guests

"North by North Quahog" Episode: #4.1 - 1 May 2005
Drew Barrymore ....  Teacher (voice)
Hunter Gomez ....  Pinocchio
Kiefer Sutherland ....  Himself (voice)

Allright so my prediction, I'm guessing 24's Jack Bauer is gonna break into the classroom scene in Donnie Darko and shoot Drew's teacher character in the knee cap thinking she is a terrorist (when she is resigning, an innocent mistake) then Pinocchio (who has been sitting in the back of the class poking Gretchen in the ... uh... back) starts a fist-fight with Donnie in this twisted love triangel, and he (Pinocch) ends up getting a shiv in the gut by the end of this 30-second vignette, non-sequiter FG style ;)

...Does FG's resurrection mean a change to how TV execs will be caring about "ratings"?

I'm really curious if anyone here has any thoughts on the question I posed ^ above...

I think the original cancelling of Family Guy had to do more with politics (Simpsons on the same network) then ratings.

Lazybones

I don't find ether of them enjoyable to watch anyway.

Simpsons used to be a satire about family life and pop culture.. Now its just screwball antics.

Family Guy is almost all screwball antics... It does a better job of that then the Simpsons so I guess that's why its popular.

Both of them can make me laugh from time to time.. but they are not shows I go out of my way to watch.

Except for 24.

And House, MD.

And Lost (I have to say "apparently and allegedly", cuz I have not yet seen this one).

Both 24 and House have excellent character development, intelligent dialogue, and a plot that keeps you guessing and actually caring about what will happen at the end of your 43 minutes.

But yeah, the rest-o-fox sux0rs the hax0rs fo sho. :D PS: When Are They Gonna Cancel That Damn King Of The Hill?

Lost had a ton of potential and has since gone downhill.

(the silence you hear is the sound of my jaw *not* dropping to the floor in surprise... always happens; damn Suits destroy something good when it gets recognized as such and they try to cash in on it - or so I presume that's what has happened ;))

I blame that show for 90% of my TV turning off. Even seeing a hint that show is on reminds me I could be doing more important things like clipping my nails or taking an aimless walk outside. Some people like it, I loathe it with a hate that'll rise up from my grave when I pass on and fire spinning plates at anyone who passes by.

I actually used to watch the odd episode of Malcom in the Middle on Fox, until they took everyone and tried to crank up the "bizzare family" factor too much. It only served to make the show unwatchable. Wacky antics turned cruel, the "bizzare so they're funny" factor turned into "bizzare because they're reaching for the foreign concept of 'funny'", and Malcom turned into a complete little jerk. Even their so-so shows get worse.

EDIT: Also! On topic, I'm hoping that the return of Family Guy is a good one. There were some pretty decent episodes in that series and it'd be nice to have something other than Rocket Robin Hood to watch cartoon-wise regularly again. All I can hope against the odds, and the odds don't look good.

Mr. Analog

But what other show takes from the Cosmic Rich and gives to the Astral Poor?
