The power supply gurus at Enermax offer today's installment in the "Why would you need this much" department, the Galaxy series power supply, set to debut later this year offering a startling 1000 Watts of PC power.

...im running a 550W supply, more then enough juice, and probably overkill (but expandable).

To put this much power into perspective, a single 7800GTX, the fastest consumer card on the market, draws around 285 Watts of power under full load conditions.

...so 2 of these is 570 Watts, add in a RAID 5, and a Athlon duel core and you are probably approaching the area of 1000W

Yowza, I didn't know they sucked that much power
