Since some of this came up in the DS sales thread I thought I would start a specific thread to share info.

First up Flash cards.. These are writable GBA carts that will hold your programs / ROMS

Since I have a DS I needed one that did not depend on a link cable. I also wanted one that was highly compatible with running NDS files.

I went with the SuperCard SD Combo from http://www.kicktrading.ca/ . The SuperCard is not rated the best for GBA speed and doesn't have a realtime clock (problem for Pokimon and animal farm GBA versions) but next to the M3 is supposed to be one of the best for DS programs. The M3Perfect SD would have been my second choice but it sticks out of way to far for my tast.

Going with an SD card based unit made for a much smaller up front investment as I can chose my storage capacity and reuse my SD cards in other devices.

http://www.kicktrading.ca/ seems to be the best place I could find in terms of price after shipping. The will list prices in canadian funds and ship from within canada so there is no extra boarder stuff to deal with.. Got my unit in 3 business days after it shipped, 24 hrs after my order was placed.

http://www.gameboy-advance.net/ seems to be a good place to get some general info.

I am currently waiting for kick to stock the PassMe2 style pass cards, these are required to Flash your DS firmware to run NDS programs from the GBA slot. I have a new DS so the older PassMe cards will not work without some difficult hacking.

Info on the flashing process can be found at http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/
