Computer Science: Why a "BS" degree and not "BA"?

This all bears little relation to physical science, wherein discovering and uncovering pre-existing properties of the material universe is the entire point. There are very few rules to be discovered in computer science, and those that there are can be discovered by Reading The @%&#ing Manual for your processor (RTFM in Internet jargon). The entire point of Science is that there is no @%&#ing Manual for the universe, and it must be discovered.


I coulda sworn there was a thread in this forum that discussed how most developers are ARTISANS, CRAFTSMEN/WOMEN, and not rigid scientifically-guided programmers...
