I love it!  Started playing it lastnight after I scored the retail at noon.  Very difficult though, the save system is very unforgiving (though the reviews stressed that many times)

Just a follow up, the EB downtown brought in 25 copies at 11:30, 11 of those were preorders (including mine), as I stood in line I noticed that they had 6 remaining for retail and by the time I left the last one was sold.  In 45 minutes they moved 25 copies.  Xbox360 needs more games that move units this fast.  Though 2 in less then a month (dead rising and chromehounds) is a good start

Looks like a really fun game.

One of our first strips derided Requiem: Avenging Angel's demo for delivering a few minutes of gameplay for a plump hundred meg download, and in the past week we've been treated to Dead Rising's full gigabyte for fifteen minutes, and now the gig and a half Dark Messiah Demo which delivers roughly the same amount. Both of these have a ridiculous amount of replayability, which dulls the sting. That's still quite a leap. Dark Messiah is a must, though...

Defcon
Finally some video of this game hits.  I found the fourth one pretty frightening.
Defcon is the latest game from Introversion, the ones that brought us Uplink and then Darwinia.  All I've seen of it thus far was the intriguing WOPRian screenshots they had released - I've essentially only had those shots and my strong faith in the developer to keep me warm on cold nights.
Darwinia was rather unique and quite cool, IIRC... creative minds at Introversion. :)

It's weird how something so simple can be so absolutely chilling. The look of the game combined with the ominous ambient music really aids in creating a sense of claustrophobia and increasing tension. We don't personally know what it's like to be in a bunker, miles underground watching the streaks of warheads on the big board, but we can imagine that this feels pretty damn close.
Games like the ones being turned out by Introversion may well represent the most hopeful recent development in the industry. Freed from the pressures of publishers, the team is just making the games it wants to see made. The results have been some of the most iconic and enjoyable titles we've seen in years. We hesitate to call them minimalist lest we inadvertently turn anyone off, but in an industry where titles require ever swelling teams and staggering budgets it's heartening to see games where millions haven't been spent on rendering the main character's arm hair or making sure that light shines realistically though someone's earlobe, but which still manage to look absolutely gorgeous in their own way. To say nothing of how damn much fun they end up being.
