The next time someone yells "Pave It", it might not be such a bad idea. Concrete that converts pollutants... well into less harmfull pollutains is a win - win situation.

Pretty cool article! The first thing I wondered about when I started reading this article was, "how does it keep clean?". It even speeds the decomposition of organic and inorganic pollutants so it keeps itself from getting filthy.

And hey, if this stuff does take off it could really help those city centre traffic areas that only have the occasional sad patch of grass to process the air. Even if it does create nitrates and carbon dioxide it's a darn sight easier to deal with those than homogeneous city smog.
