$5 fee for updating the firmware? Thats ridiculous :o

No $5 for sending in your defective hardware that did not update correctly, IE there is probably something wrong with it.

Yeah, it's a brokerage fee.

brokerage for what? You paid for the thing, if they want to update the firmware to say fix cracked games, they can bloody well pay for it.

To take care of shipping and handling for you, instead of you paying for it. Really have never had to pay for shipping to get warranty work.

You are not paying for the damn firmware, you are paying to get your defective hardware replaced. The we updates will contain more wii channels and other features in the future, if your hardware is failing to update correctly then you need to send it back and get new hardware.

It is that simple.

If you don't want to use the online features, don't enable updates and go online.

During or after the Warranty period? For me it's free for the first 90 days.

Oh, I can see for UPS, I thought that was JUST the online firmware update fee. Sorry.
