Firefox isn't very Vista friendly, so not even using it.

I stopped using Firefox a while ago when it tended to eat up most of my ram, (I have 1.5GB) for no good reason (no, not talking about the page render cache, I turned that off to test).

<Zapata Prime> I smell Stanley... And he smells good!!!

I have 1 GB of RAM, Firefox is currently consuming 60 MB with three tabs open. What version of FF were you on? You may want to check out this little guide posted on mozillaZine, it talks about ways of reducing memory consumption if it is a problem for you.

I have found FF to also be extremely memory heavy, however its not uncommon for me to have a dozen tabs open.

I never have that many tabs open my self, so I haven't found it to be a problem..

I do that a lot when I'm surfing place like deviantArt I'll have a lot of tabs open (15-25 easy). It used to be a real problem in FF 1.x but they really cleaned it up in 2.0 (for me at least).

Oh its not like my browser crashes, but it will use 200MB or memory no problem at all, however I dont see the worry in that, its not like im doing other stuff, besides, what is the problem with large memory usage anyways?  *shrug*

I second the observation.

That's (sadly) why I often use IE for quick lookups of stuff (IMDB, Wikipedia, UrbanDictionary.com) but my serious research/reading/Youtubing is usually in FF cuz of the tabbing.

But doesn't IE7 have tabbed browsing built in now? (dangit, don't want more reason to use it ;) )

WOW!

2.0 launches a *lot* faster, and the memory consumption appears way more reasonable.

I just opened about 8 or 9 tabs as a quick test: went from 28MB (no tabs) to about 48MB at the end.
