Quote
When Microsoft chairman Bill Gates was shot dead on December 2, 1999, it was a tragedy that resonated throughout the world.

But as time wears on, that tragedy has developed into a mystery for many observers, who see police misconduct and a cover-up where others see an open-and-shut case.

NOTHING SO STRANGE follows the efforts of an organized group of these skeptics, who call themselves Citizens for Truth, as they launch an aggressive independent investigation of the Gates assassination and in the process confront the LAPD, a hostile mainstream press, and the group's own internal squabbles.

With never-before-seen amateur footage of the Gates assassination, hypnotic 3D recreations of the various aspects of the crime, and almost unlimited access to the inner workings of Citizens for Truth, NOTHING SO STRANGE is ultimately both personal and political-an intimate portrait of average citizens on a search for the truth, as well as a revealing look at the last great crime of the 20th Century.

Who killed Bill Gates?
If you thought you knew the answer to that question, we're glad you're here. Most Americans, depending on accounts reported in the mainstream media, believe that the assassination of Bill Gates has been solved to a certainty. Lone assassin, story finished, case closed.

But Citizens for Truth believes that the real story behind the assassination and aftermath has yet to be fully determined. Both the known evidence and the lack of cooperation from the authorities raise disturbing questions about this putatively "solved" crime.

Sounds brilliant (and hopefully not mocking) -- might just get its point across in very novel (and vivid) way, sorta like some story elements in "The Matrix" methinks...

The first link in this post leads directly to a video (albeit Flash).  Shouldn't this be in the video section?  In which case, shouldn't there be a nice description letting us know what it's about, rather than just a re-posting of the text from another part of the website?  Since it's re-posted text from the linked website, shouldn't the text be inserted as a quote?

Don't get me wrong, this appears to be an interesting link, but:

  • I was unhappily surprised that sound started playing when I opened the link in a new tab (I hadn't switched to the tab yet so I had no idea where the sound was suddenly coming from)
  • I was going to debate with you whether Gates was actually shot because I thought you'd written all that text yourself until I recognized it on another page at that website

Just some (hopefully well-received) criticism of the style of the post...

SORRY.

It's not a link to a video, it's the supporting websites related to a docmockumentary, apparently in the style of DOAP. But these guys went way deep into the background story, setting up multiple websites, articles, a forum etc. So it's more than just a video.

I'm guessing after watching it folks will either laugh at all "the officials aren't telling us the whole truth" proponents, or will quietly ponder just how little they can trust about history...

( And yes, I admit that the thread title might have been a bit "wtf?" but I would hope that the linked content would either be ignored by RW'ers, or appreciated for its dry humour and/or straight faced delivery of its "message"... )

"...I was going to debate with you whether Gates was actually shot because I thought you'd written all that text yourself until I recognized it on another page at that website..." <-- see, I guess that means you'd fall into the 2nd group instead of the 1st ;)

Heh, I see you edited the original post, and now it makes a lot more sense.  Funny, just wrapping the quoted text in a quote block makes it obvious to me that the text is from the website and thus describing what I can find when I click the link :P

Yeah, it is rather amazing just how much web trouble they went through to market this movie...
